University of Queensland (UQ) is a public university in Brisbane, Australia that was established in 1909. The major campuses are in Gatton, Herston, and Lucia but it also has other locations used as teaching hospitals and health centres, agricultural science farms, research stations, seismograph stations and an underground mine.

UQ offers undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs in the fields of agriculture, architecture, arts, humanities, business, education, engineering, medicine, law, and science.

UQ is one of the top universities in the world as evidenced by its rankings. They are 35th according to the CWTS Leiden Ranking in 2017, 41st in the Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities, 45th in the US News Best Global Universities Rankings (45), 47th in the QS World University Rankings, 55th in the Academic Ranking of World Universities, and 65th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
