What does Central Queensland University stand for?

CQUniversity

CQUniversity was founded in 1967 and was initially named as the Queensland Institute of Technology (QIT) Capricornia. It was awarded full universoty status in 1992 and now has a total of 16 campuses in Adelaide, Brisbane, Bundaberg, Cairns, Emerald, Gladstone, Mackay, Melbourne, Noosa, Perth, Rockhampton, Sydney and Townsville.

CQUniversity offers short courses and certificates, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Apprenticeships, Trades and Training, Business, Accounting and Law, Creative, Performing and Visual Arts, Education and Humanities, Engineering and Built Environment, Health, Information Technology and Digital Media, Psychology, Social Work and Community Services, Science and Environment, and Work and Study Preparation. It is also one of the pioneers in offering online study with almost half of their students studying off-campus, may of whom are from rural and remote areas.

The University has proved it provides quality education based on its graduates and rankings. It has one of the best emplyment rates (81.1%) in Australia based on the data released by Graduate Careers Australia (GCA). According to the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT), CQUniversity out performs the majority of Australian universities in terms of graduate employment and graduate salary outcomes. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings includes CQUniversity in the top 500 universities in the World, and in the top 150 universities under 50 years old
