Applicants must belong to families with an annual family income of ₱210,000.00 or below, as determined by the family Income Tax Returns for the last two (2) years.
Applicants whose annual family income is higher than ₱210,000.00 but not exceeding ₱250,000.00 may be considered if there are five (5) or more dependents in the family or if said applicants come from public elementary schools located in rural and urban depressed areas.
Applicants must have a weighted average grade of 88 or better for Grade 9 and the First Grading Period of Grade 10.
All applicants must take the UPHSI JUNIOR / SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL ADMISSION TEST.
General Requirements
Applicant must be a Senior high school student expecting to graduate before SY 2021-2022 from a DepEd-accredited high school or an accredited secondary school abroad; OR
Graduate of a DepEd- accredited high school or accredited secondary school abroad; AND
Must have final grades for Grade 8, 9, 10 and first semester of Grade 11;
Must not have taken any college subject/s; AND
Must not have taken the UP College Admission Test before.
Filipino Applicants
The applicant must fill out the Application Form (in selected regional areas) or apply online at UP Admissions Online.
The Online Portal shall automatically forward a request to your high school principal or school head to fill out Form 2 (Secondary School Record).
Documents such as Forms 1 and 2 and all other required ones must be uploaded in the Online Portal.
For non- Filipino Applicants: Pay the application fee
Foreigner Applicants
An international applicant may apply for automatic admission if s/he meets the following requirements:
Completion of a high school program in the country where s/he had secondary education (including the completion of a one- or two-year pre-university education in a country where such is a prerequisite for admission to a bachelor's degree program); AND
Qualifications for college admission by any of the following national or international foreign-administered examinations: the SAT, OR the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Examination, OR the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB), OR other equivalent examinations approved by UP.
SAT: (scores must not have been taken more than 4 years before application)Bachelor's degree or its academic equivalent from any institution recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
Take and pass the entrance examination, except those applicants seeking admission to programs which do not require one. This examination may be directly administered by the academic unit concerned or by the Graduate Program Office.
Two Recommendation letters from two former professors and/or recognized authoriries in the disicipline or area of specialization
Character reference
The Dean of the concerned degree-granting unit shall act upon the admission of applicants upon the recommendation of the unit's Admissions Committee.
Possession of bachelor's degree or master's degree or equivalent degree or title from the University or from other recognized institutions of higher learning
Satisfactory evidence of scholarship and quality of academic work as indicated by previous preparation
Fulfillment of any special requirements for the major field that is chosen by the student
General requirement: 3 letters of recommendation from former professors, the third letter of recommendation must be from a major professor.
Certificate in English Proficiency by a professor in English is ONLY required to the applicant whose school DO NOT USE English as a medium of instruction and/or not the native language.
Intellectual ability
Demonstrated capability in research.
