The BS in Computer Science program was instituted in response to the demand for staff with a high level of technical and professional training required by business, industry, government and the academic community to perform specific functions ranging from the lowest level professional to the highest level researcher and educator. The program aims to prepare the students for instruction, research activities related to the discipline, for advanced studies in Computer Science, and to train them to develop software systems. Three areas of computer science constitute the core courses of the program, namely, system software, data base management and theory of computing.
