The BS in Agricultural Biotechnology program covers the study of the concepts, methods and a range of tools to understand and manipulate the genetic make-up of organisms. This is done to increase the production or processing of agricultural products. The degree course covers the study of topics like crop yield, reduced vulnerability of crops to environmental stresses, increased nutritional qualities and improved taste, texture and appearance of food, reduced dependence on fertilizers, pesticides and other agrochemicals, biofuels, plant and animal breeding, cell structure and physiological processes, photosynthesis, genetic engineering for crop improvement, etc.
