Summer came through again at Trace College as it welcomed the 27 candidates for Mr. and Ms. Los Baños Swimwear Competition on the night of September 7, 2018. The dashing candidates were warmly accommodated and ushered to each of their awaiting rooms at Trace Suites. Later that night, the candidates practiced their winning walks at Trace College’s training pool.
On the following day, 8th of September, the event proper was filled with excitement and loud cheers from the audience as the candidates from different barangays of Los Baños sashayed their way through the runway wearing Olie Pabustan’s designed swimwear.
Under the blazing sun, each candidate flaunted their swimwear-ready bodies. Not only that, the candidates were also gathered for a photoshoot in some of Trace College and Trace Suites’ distinguished facilities after the competition.
Carried by our very own coaster, the candidates were then brought to Centro mall for a delectable lunch, but the fun-filled day did not stop there! Right after filling their tummies with good food, the female candidates were invited to Mi-mi cosmetics to try out, pose, and project with some of the store’s products.
As a conclusion of the day’s event, the candidates were invited to Centro Residences for a group candid photoshoot with the unit’s polished features.
The event, with the goal of raising awareness and appreciation to one’s well-being and its synchronicity with nature, was spearheaded by Ms. Karen Lagat-Mercado, the Gender And Development (GAD) Focal Point of the Local Government Unit of Los Baños, Laguna, along with the production head Director Mark Lester Del Mundo Chico, steering committee members Ms. Twila T. Torres, and Honourable Councilor Josephine Sumangil.
The judges of the competition consisted of Honourable Councilors Jay Rolusta, Julius Moliñawe, Cris Bagnes, Engr. Ricky Estopace, and Mr. Los Baños Teen 2017 Jin Ortega.
It was indeed a feat for TRACE.
