Established in 1953, Don Bosco Technical College Mandaluyong (DBTC) is a private Catholic educational institution in Mandaluyong City. Owned and operated by the Salesians of Don Bosco, it is the first Don Bosco Educational Center in Metro Manila with 24 other centers located all over the Philippines. DBTC’s College Department opened in 1966. 
 

DBTC offers not only co-educational senior high and college education, but also an all-boys grade school department, an academic and technical curriculum junior high school education, and vocational training for out-of-school youth. The institution aims to form an Educative-Pastoral community of lifelong learners. DBTC promotes holistic personal growth, working for total human development and encourages active participation in upholding social justice. By providing an environment that is both academically vigorous and innovative, DBTC hopes to form students into agents of social change.
 
DBTC offers courses in engineering, architecture, information technology, computer science, and entrepreneurship. Its senior high department, on the other hand, provides strands such as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM), Digital Media Technology (DMT), and General Academic Strand (GAS).

DBTC’s students have consistently surpassed the national average in board exams. The college’s Computer Engineering Program has received a Level I accreditation from the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) while their High School achieved a Level II accreditation. DBTC also received a Philippine Quality Award (PQA) in 2012. All seven degree programs are recognized by the Commission for Higher Education (CHEd).


Don Bosco Technical College Mandaluyong Facts:
  • Until 2004, DBTC’s college department accepted only male students.
  • DBTC is now a part of the Education Servicing Contract (ESC) Program of the Department of Education. DepEd is giving 110 incoming Grade 7 a subsidy of Php 10,000.00 for the whole year.
  • Francis Magalona, “King of Filipino rap” was an alumnus of DBTC.
